A few days ago, we posted a link to AOL’s Fanhouse, where columnist Ed Price pulled a few choice quotes in a Spring Training discussion with former Cardinals OF Jim Edmonds.
Included in that dialog:
“Some days, driving in, I think [WTF].”
Edmonds went on to say that he would, presumably, “walk away” if he wasn’t getting the playing time he deserved; even though he hasn’t played competitive baseball since circa 2005. Figuratively speaking, of course.
But today, Tom Haudricourt from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel posted snippets from a conversation he had with Edmonds early Friday.
“It’s a good feeling to be able to come back and get my game back together. I still have a lot to prove but I’m excited about playing this year.”
Edmonds has always been flakey and we’re glad to see that nothing has changed at the age of 39. Staying…going. Happy…disappointed. Frosted tips…natural. Who the hell knows.
Here’s a thought; maybe that signature Jim Edmonds half-shirt that we saw back in 2004 wasn’t *just* a wardrobe albatros – it was an integral, product-placed motif in the legendary story of Number Fifteen.
Half-full…or half-empty?
How about both?
