With the USA trailing by a goal to Ghana late in Saturday’s match, they sent goalie Tim Howard into the action for a late corner kick, trailing be a goal. Howard contested a ball against the Ghanaian keeper, Richard Kingson in what proved to be a rare and picturesque moment from this summer’s World Cup.
For some strange reason, this moment reminded us of our favorite goalkeeper vs. goalkeeper interaction; Curtis Joseph vs. Tim Cheveldae in an epic battle between the Blues and Red Wings on January 23rd 1993.
